If you are searching for a modern woodland cottage Tresaith that manages to be both architectural chic and "I’m never leaving this sofa" cosy, welcome to Ty Isaf. Nestled in a quiet, wooded valley just half a mile from the golden sands, this property is a masterclass in contemporary coastal living.

Your tour begins in the heart of the home: the spacious open-plan living area. With beamed apex ceilings and a dramatic wall of glass, the room practically begs you to sit down and do absolutely nothing - or perhaps open a bottle of something cold from your welcome hamper while the light pours in through the bi-fold doors. The furniture is high-end, the art is local, and for those rare evenings when the Welsh mist rolls in, the modern wood-burning stove (with a complimentary basket of logs) stands ready to turn this modern woodland cottage Tresaith into a warm, glowing sanctuary.

The sleeping arrangements are as flexible as they are plush. The master bedroom is a coastal dream featuring a super king bed and a sleek en-suite with a rejuvenating rain shower. The second bedroom offers twin beds that can transform into a super king on request - perfect for those who can’t agree on sleeping arrangements - and its own en-suite with a large bath for a long soak. Meanwhile, the cosy loft twin, accessed via its own staircase from the lower hallway, feels like a private hideaway for children or those seeking a bit of "me time," with a dedicated shower room waiting at the bottom of the stairs.

The kitchen is a monochrome triumph, fully equipped with everything from a blender for morning smoothies to a Nespresso coffee machine for that essential caffeine kick. Step through the glass doors onto the hardwood decking. Wrapped in fairy lights and furnished with garden sofas, it’s a secure, private stage for alfresco dining while you listen to the babble of the unfenced stream at the bottom of the garden. Whether you’re here for the surfing or the silence, Ty Isaf provides a spectacular base with the distinct finish you would expect from a modern woodland cottage Tresaith.

Location

Perfectly positioned, Ty Isaf sits in a sheltered wooded valley on the leafy outskirts of Tresaith. A ten-minute amble down a quiet country lane brings you to the heart of the village and the shoreline. Tresaith Beach is a local legend - a sandy Blue Flag cove famous for its unique waterfall that cascades directly onto the sand from the cliffs above. After a day of rock-pooling or surfing, The Ship Inn (less than a mile away) offers a sea-view terrace that is arguably the best spot in West Wales for a sunset pint.

If you can tear yourself away from the valley, the Ceredigion Coastal Path is accessible within minutes, offering breathtaking walks north towards Llangrannog or south to Aberporth. Just a short drive away lies the historic market town of Cardigan, home to a beautifully restored castle and a thriving independent food scene. For a bit of wildlife magic, head north to New Quay for a dolphin-spotting boat trip in Cardigan Bay, or visit the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Teifi Marshes to spot otters and water buffalo. Whether you are exploring the Preseli Mountains or the hidden coves of Mwnt, you are perfectly placed for the very best of the Welsh coast.
