Holiday Cottage With Fantastic Views Near Fairy Glen | Wern-Fawr

As you pull down into the drive of the cottage, the view that greets you is spectacular; a beautiful old stone building looking out over the Conwy river and the Lledr valley. Wern-Fawr is a three bedroom holiday cottage with fantastic views near Fairy Glen and a five minute drive from the centre of Betws Y Coed itself.

Entering into the cottage brings you straight into the sitting room where you’ll find two comfy sofas, a log effect burner and TV - all very inviting and where you will spend many a cosy evening. The sitting room leads out onto a large wooden terrace which overhangs the hillside; an absolutely stunning addition to the cottage.

Back through the sitting room leads you into the kitchen. A lovely modern kitchen with exposed brick stone at one end. Another log effect burner gives a very inviting feel to the room. A large dining room table which will seat six comfortably along with plenty of storage and modern appliances, including an American style fridge will mean you have everything you need for cooking up a storm during your stay.

Upstairs there are two double rooms and one twin room. The two double rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers and are beautifully decorated with lots of individual touches whilst retaining a clean and airy feel throughout. The twin room is at the back of the house and has its own family bathroom; with both shower and bath. All the rooms and bathrooms are finished to a very high spec.

Location

The show piece of this cottage is the wooden terrace that overhangs the hillside. A huge space with table and chairs allows you to enjoy the views with no interruption. A fantastic place to sit and eat dinner, have breakfast, or just sit and daydream! There is plenty of outdoor garden space with lots of places for the kids to run around and enjoy the natural surroundings.

1.5 miles from the centre of Betws Y Coed, the cottage is really well positioned. Betws Y Coed, home to the Swallow Falls waterfall and the famous Fairy Glen is in walking distance from the cottage. There are plenty of shops and cafes in Betws y Coed town centre and a real go to place if you are after outdoor clothing. The Conwy Falls and Cafe are 5 minutes up the road where you will also find the headquarters for Go Below, the ultimate in underground adventures for the area. Dolwyddelan Castle is also a 5-10 min drive away.

15 minutes from the new Zip world adventures means you also have easy access to some of the great new attractions the area has to offer. Wyddfa (Snowdon) is a 20 minute car ride away as is Conwy where you find the Castle and a great old market town where the smallest house in the UK is located.

We had a beautiful stay at this wonderful cottage. We were so lucky with the weather too so we enjoyed a drink or two on the veranda looking at the stunning view. Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the beds are super comfy. Lovely hamper of local goods on arrival was a bonus. We enjoyed many walks in the area including climbing Snowdon and we loved the local pubs and pizza place. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Stunning and peaceful location. Incredible bush walks. Very comfy beds. Very responsive host. We loved watching the birds and squirrels from the house.
We didn’t realise that it was as far from the village as it was. The walk was either along a busy road or down a muddy, slippery track which was no problem for us but is something to consider if you have mobility issues.

The location was really good. We were hiking Snowdon on one of the days and heading to Anglesey on the other so perfect. The cottage was a good size, there was only 3 of us but it could have fit more. Having three bathrooms was great as I was there with my brother and my step daughter so we could all have our own space. Very nicely presented. Close to Betws-y-coed so we could go and get the bus for a hike and easily get food on both evenings.

Spent the most amazing weekend as a group of 4 celebrating 20 years of friendship. Lots of new memories made, the cottage was perfect and the hamper was a lovely surprise. Views were amazing even with the bad weather it didn’t dampen our spirits. Will definitely be back to this cottage, maybe with the kids next time.

Very well-equipped and beautifully located cottage with all the options for a relaxing holiday. The towels were new, but very fluffy and not drying. Otherwise everything was great!
