Myself and my family had the loveliest time staying at this cottage.. I cannot sing its praises enough! Weâve stayed at a Dioni cottage before and again it was also perfect! This cottage had everything and more⌠it was cosy, clean and apparently (so my kids say) the games room was the best part đ., Such a lovely touch, as we all know kids are constantly bored .. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will be recommending to all my friends! Thanks for having us xxx

We would highly recommend âHen Ysguborâ at this most beautiful and tranquil location; the accommodation had it all and kept 3 generations of family all happy during our stay here, the games room was just perfect and on many evenings this room and the outside garden space was filled with laughter.
Such a peaceful location with the most amazing scenery to view from each and every window, we enjoyed a few walks exploring the fields and streams adjacent to Hen Ysgubor and each time found something new! We even experienced the driveway full of sheep on a couple of occasions early morning when the local farmer moved them from field to field, the sheepdogs were just inspiring to watch at work and a fabulous sight to wake up to – moved an entire flock in just minutes!
Overall we have enjoyed a great family holiday with visits to The Sygun Copper Mine, Craflwyn & Beddgelert National Trust, a trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit, the Llanberis Lake Railway enjoying the National Slate Museum at the final stop, an exhilarating rib ride at Menai Bridge, Beaumaris Castle, Zip Safari / Treetop Nets / Skyride and the Forest Coaster all at Zip World Fforest, Greenwood Forest Park, stunning views at Y Felinheli Waterfront and a day at the beach at Black Rock Sands (inc. Porthmadog Harbour). There is so much to see and do in the area and all of the mentioned days out took less than an hour to reach, most were just a short 15-20 minutes away. Itâs a great base for families and rambling groups alike.
We also arranged a food shop delivery from Tesco.com to arrive at the house on our first day which kept the cupboards stocked up for the length of our stay.
We would definitely stay again in the future as there is just so much still left to explore!!
Thank you to the owners for providing us with such a fabulous home from home for the week.

Spent three nights in this lovely cottage on a family break. Fantastic setting amidst great scenery during great weather. Spotless, well equipped accommodation with plenty of room for our party of seven adults. Short drive to great walks up Snowdon and from Beddgelert. Would highly recommend a stay here for the tranquil setting and as a base for exploring the area.

Yet another amazing stay at this beautiful cottage, if you want to call it that. To us, itâs home. We first fell in-love with this beauty 9 years ago. The home, the sheep fields and the spectacular views made our stay a memorable one. 9 years later weâre back with our 3 children, much older. We love the downstairs open concept living area, with kitchen, dining and family room with fireplace for us all to enjoy together. The kitchen is well stocked and the bigger refrigerator was perfect along with the small deep freeze for all our home made meals. The four bedrooms fit us all perfectly. Giving our older children space to themselves along with beautiful views from each window. The two bathrooms are wonderful to have and very conveniently located, one up and one down. The surrounding sheep fields lulled us to sleep and woke us gently each morning. This time around we were able to enjoy the baby sheep frolicking around with each other. The windows are big and bright and are open all the time when weâre here. The air is crisp and clear and perfect for revitalising your spirits. The addition of the game room was a great joy this time, as we all had a great time with darts and pool. We love that the house has a washer and dryer and hanging line as well. Itâs perfect for long stays and long hikes through the surrounding waking paths. Itâs the perfect location for us with horse riding right down the road, pottery painting and a short drive to Llanberis and Caernarfon. We canât speak more highly about this wonderful cottage. I hope we can make it back sooner rather than later! Thank you so much for another memorable holiday!!! Many pictures were taken to keep this gem in our hearts.

A beautiful cottage, in an idyllic setting: the whole of Snowdon on the doorstep one way, and only a 15 minute drive to Caernarfon the other. Lovely people, including the helpful and friendly cottage owner. The cottage itself was very warm, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. Many thanks for a lovely holiday.

Lovely cottage, everything that you would need for a fantastic stay. Warm, cosy and extremely clean. Lovely walks right from the front door. The games room was a hit with the children. Would definitely stay again. Excellent communication with owners.

We had a fantastic family holiday in the Cottage. It is very spacious, spotlessly clean and perfect for a family get together. Sure you have to drive a couple of minutes along a bumpy track but this isn’t a problem and the pay back is a stunning and isolated setting. The weather was fantastic during our stay so we didn’t use the log burner but I could imagine this would be a real bonus to return to a cosy fire in the winter months. I don’t know if Wi-fi in the area has been upgraded but we found it to very good during our stay. We would definitely return.

I stayed here for the second time to attempt Snowdon. There was 8 of us and the cottage has plenty of space to accommodate us. I love the open space and log fire and hot tub. Bad weather stopped me attempting snowdon for the second time but we had a lovely walk around the lake in Llanberis! Fantastic location and beautiful, clean, spacious cottage! Will definitely return for a third time next year! Thanks!

If you want to “get away from it all” for a peaceful break with your immediate family or a few friends, then this is the place for you. The cottage is a converted barn that has been beautifully renovated in a naturally beautiful, and slightly remote, part of North Wales. Despite this, you are only 20 minutes from Caernarvon, with all the attractions it has to offer. The cottage is well furnished, and the beds very comfortable. The open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area suited us perfectly, as it allowed us to converse no matter what we were doing. We had a fabulous weekend there – and I could see myself wanting to go back for a longer stay.

Lovely cottage, very quiet and clean in the middle of the hills. Fitted out well and very comfortable. Wi-fi ok but you are in the mountains so you shouldn’t expect too much. Lots of walks from the property. Owners very helpful

We rented this cottage for my 50th Birthday weekend. 8 adults had plenty of space in this lovely cottage. The open plan area was lovely for just hanging out. The log burner is really effective as despite open plan high ceilings the rooms warm up really quickly. Really well equipped, the washer drier was very handy after a wet day in the hills. The owner, Bethan, popped up to see us and try to sort a Wifi problem, it was a little hit and miss but certainly did not detract from a lovely weekend and location. Would certainly go back again.. Just back from our week stay at Ysgubor Goch, up to end of first week in August.
You’ll go a long way to find a better accommodation than this for 8 people.I actually thought the price we paid for our high season stay was pretty reasonable compared to others I’d looked at. We would certainly book again if we need accommodation for 6-8 people.
We had a lovely comfortable stay. No issues in finding the drive to the farmhouse, it’s just quite along drive from the road. Superb location with lovely views with great access to all of Snowdonia. A spacious feel to the property, quiet and relaxing.
All the facilities you need for a short or long stay.
Found the beds nice and comfortable just like home which you so often don’t get. Never turned the t.v on so can’t comment on that. Wi-fi was generally ok , but we did lose it on occasion, probably down to the remote location.
Plenty of parking , we had three cars.
The hot tub was nice after a days walking, though we wondered why it has an 8 o’clock curfew (p.m) and could only assume it was a potential noise issue as there is another property across the drive. We thought this perhaps should have been mentioned in the information on booking .
All in all a great place to stay, i’d recommend it to anyone.

We spent 2 weeks at this lovely and so peaceful cottage. The approach wasn´t a problem and the road to the cottage is not as bad as we expected. You just have to drive slowly because of a few potholes, but you can´t drive fast at the narrow road anyway. The house had been very tidy with plenty of space for 7 people. We found everything we needed for our comfort and the really friendly owners answered immediately to one question we had. The surroundings are magnificent and you can go in for a lots of things from there without driving too far. We walked up to Yr Wyddfa and the Cnicht, did several walks at the coastal path, visited Halen Môn at Anglesey, Zip World or went to Caernarfon and Bangor. WiFi is very good at the cottage which was really comfortable. There had been just one thing that strained us: the huge amount of rubbish. The owner told us he has a contract with somebody who separates the waste but it´s a bad feeling anyway not to be able to collect paper, glass or compost for example, but putting all together. Therefore we preferred to have a real coffee-machine, not one with pads, but these are only annotationes. Also we could not find the pub at Betws Garmon the homepage is talking about, but we didn´t ask anybidy so maybe we just didn´t mention.
We can highly recommand this cottage and if possible, we will surely come back! So thanks a lot for wonderful holiday, greetings from Bavaria!

Had a lovely Easter break at Ysgybor Goch – 7 adults (with 3 cars) easily accommodated and good equipment for all in this tastefully converted barn . Photos on website are accurate. 5 minutes drive to car park for Ranger path up Snowdon – we walked/climbed it but couldn’t see much at the top ! Also walked the local footpaths, visited Caernafon and rode Titan at Zipworld. Returning each day to be able to have a soak in the hot tub was just wonderful, re-energising us for food and silly games in the evenings. Would highly recommend this cottage to family groups.

Very well thought out barn conversion, 4 great sized bedrooms, suited family gathering of three generations perfectly as grandparents had downstairs bedroom and ensuite.
Location is excellent, perfect for a get away from it all break (very “isolated”…..as expected.
Access was very challenging indeed, really needs a sign or similar and track to be repaired in parts. Near to the point of being unusable, especially in winter i would have thought. Thankfully one of our party had successfully navigated, otherwise we may still have been looking.

First the 99% positives and then some tips and suggestions.
The barn is a great place to stay and the interior is near faultless. There is also every need met. So there is nothing to bring with you. It is very spacious with lots of clean, unchipped crockery and glasses.
I’d improve the TV facility which is by modern standards too small for communal viewing from the seating area. If I lived here then beneath the walkway would be a great place to install a projector and rotate the seating by 90 degrees to face the stair wall.
The location is very beautiful and tranquil.
The owners were responsive to a problem with the front door.
The main issues are the drive up from the road and phone signal.
Top tips for finding the place. From the south you see the camp on the left and the church and graveyard on the right. The turnoff is the next left. From the north if you pass them turn back. The fork occurs almost immediately off the road. There should be better signage but there is a red post box to the left of the wrong fork. So take the LEFT fork. The lane is indeed partially tarmac but the quality degrades and after the quarry becomes a track. It is desperately in need of patching. Take it slowly and be prepared to often go to one side of the track to avoid a pothole on the other. Grounding the car is not yet an issue but it could become one. Our Honda Jazz made it up but it requires constant vigilance.
You might come here to leave technology behind but the wifi is for us an essential. We are on 3 network and there was no signal. But 3 do an Android app called Three in Touch that allows calls and texts over wifi. So check out your network provider for a similar app.
Final top tip is food and groceries. There is a Londis attached to a garage on the way in from the north. Carnarvon is next nearest. And there is a Tesco with petrol station in Porthmadog. Our daughters arranged an online delivery and I recommend the approach. But be very clear about directions because the lack of clear signage is a MAJOR shortcoming for the store. Our Asda driver took an hour to find the place.
The cost of one or two fence posts and a sign or board with anything quickly recognisable would address a major shortcoming. If there was a post with a board of a distinctive colour you could say “Look out for the yellow and blue board” or something similar. Personally I’d get a poster of Shaun the Sheep and varnish it to the wood. Who doesn’t love Ardman Animations?

Just back from a wonderful week in the cottage. we are a family of four, two girls aged 7 and 12. We had an amazing time, including climbing Snowden up the llanberis path. In hindsight next time we will walk the Ranger trail, as the Llanberis walk was very busy !!. We also had an amazing time at Plas Y Brenin outdoor centre in Capel Curig, spent a day canoeing, climbing etc, fantastic.
The cottage is lovely and really spacious. I notice the comments about phone coverage and wi-fi, do you really want or need this on holiday !!. There is wi-fi but we did’nt feel the need to use it. The views from the cottage are amazing, such a lovely sense of space and light. There is so much to do in the area, we had fun packed days including a trip to Greenacres theme park, a trip to Portmeiron (where the ‘prisoner’ was filmed), a BBQ on the beach at Pothmadog, climbed Snowden, day at Plas Y Brenin and a lovely day walking around Bedgelert and Betwys Coed. I cannot recommend this cottage enough, it is perfect for a family or a group of friends. Oh, and if you are a family with young children, and are worried about climbing Snowden, do not hesitate. as long as you are wearing suitable layers, and have water etc, then you will absolutely love it. Having witnessed fellow climbers wearing flip flops (I kid you not) then you’ll get the idea !!
The only slight criticism, if you can call it that…is the chlorine levels in the hot tub are really high, meaning it’s quite unpleasant for a while after start up, but it does seem to clear after 15 mins or so with the window and door open !

This is a beautiful cottage in a really special place.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and had everything we needed.
Particularly enjoyed running in the valley and our german shepherd, Smokey, was in his element!
The only problem was the lack of a landline. I personally enjoyed having no phone signal and being away from the rest of the world, but it proved difficult to contact members of our party who came separately to give directions. Other than that, everything was great.
Thanks again, we will be back!

The barn was beautiful and set in ideal surroundings with only sheep as neighbours most of the time. Lots of lovely walking trails, mapped up to minimise the risk of getting lost with arrows at random points.
The barn had all amenities and was located within easy reach of local shop and supermarket for food shopping.
It was very difficult to find even with email instruction as no real signage so this would be really helpful to others visiting. A sign at the end of the lane you turn down off main road through quarry would be ideal (rusty sign at present of no real assistance)

This cottag is ideal for a family gathering, large enough to accommodate, with a high level privacy. The location is stunning, with specular views. The location is important as its within easy reach of many of Snowdonia attractions.
Managed to find excellent ice creams in Beddgelert and Conwy, and many exhilarating attractions from bouncing to zipping.
Would highly recommend.

Stayed for a week in late April. Fabulous accommodation well appointed, ideal for a large family gathering, made easy with well laid out and open planning. Ideally suituated for touring North Wales.
Difficult to take advantage in a week of all that Snowdonia has to offer, and that’s not including superior ice creams in Beddgelert and Conwy!!!!
Love it.

We have just enjoyed a long weekend at this fantastic barn conversion. there were seven adults in our party and we had room and facilities for all. The conversion is superb and you feel right at home. We spent hours wandering the fields and listening to the lambs.
If you’re looking for a secluded base to explore North Wales, or to just chill, then this is perfect.

Just back from 5 nights at the barn . What a fantastic place it is . At the end of a farm track and surrounded by fields which were great for walking with our dog. Close to some fantastic beaches. Nefyn was our personal favourite. The barn has all the facilities and everything you need for a great holiday. We would definitely recommend it.

bit late with this review lol! we stayed in this cottage in the summer and it was fantastic! lots of space for or granddaughter to run around in and she loved watching the sheep shearing. a truly stunning, peaceful and very private location. we have been holidaying in north wales for over twenty years and can honestly say that this was the best cottage we have ever rented. excellent service and the dioni website and booking process provided us with all the information and support we needed to make our initial choice and booking. the thing that really sold it to us was the video preview of all of the cottages. we were attracted by the quality and location of this cottage and will definitely use their services again next year. many thanks to dioni and the owners of the cottage for our best holiday in north wales to date.

Such a beautiful cottage in a peaceful location!
Spotlessly clean and well appointed, especially grateful for the hot tub after trekking up Snowdon!
A couple of sharp knives in the kitchen are the only things we missed.
Walks from the cottage itself were lovely, and the short distance to the Rhyd ddu and Snowdon Ranger paths made it ideal for some lovely walking.
Hope to be back again someday!

Had a lovely stay in the cottage, only 2 of us so plenty of room! Weather was perfect, situation really good for both Rhyd Ddu and Snowdon Ranger tracks up Snowdon and spent a whole day in near by Beddgelert. Cottage was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed. Thanks for a lovely stay, hopefully we’ll be back next year will certainly recommend to friends.
One addition I would suggest would be some plastic glasses to use outside, otherwise it had everything we needed.
