With the winter weather behind us comes the opportunity to enjoy more time outdoors and lots of these activities allow you to do just that, while also keeping the kids occupied and enjoying some fun family time.

Whether you’re looking for ways to entertain the little ones, involve reluctant teenagers, or simply spend quality time together, we’ve curated a list of activities that are sure to please both children and adults alike, from Easter egg hunts to nature trails, circus workshops and more, there’s something here for everyone.

Animal Families Quiz Trail, RSPB Conwy | 9 March – 14 April 

Spring is a time to celebrate new life! Follow the trails, find the clues and match the animal babies to their families. £1 per quiz sheet, no booking required. Normal entrance fees apply.

Easter Activities Trail, Penrhyn Castle and Garden, Bangor | 23 March – 1 April

Local artists bring the nature trail to life at Penrhyn Castle. Meet the carved woodland creatures who live in the grounds, and the larger-than-life willow frog who makes a home in the Bog Garden. Find the instruments in the woods and make some music, join in the Easter tea party, or take part in the egg and spoon race.

Easter Trail, Bodnant Gardens, Conwy | 23 March – 1 April

Explore the beautiful gardens at Bodnant as you make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

Easter Trail, Plas Newydd House and Gardens, Anglesey | 23 March – 1 April

Come along to Plas Newydd, explore the beautiful gardens and grounds, enjoy the Easter Trail and take part in the Spring Show! Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter sheet, pencil, bunny ears and a chocolate egg, either dairy or vegan and Free From.

Nature’s Nests, RSPB Conwy | 27 March

Spring is here and with it our wildlife is busy building nests! Take a look at some of nature’s fascinating nests and discover the amazing architects who build them. Get hands on with some crafts to take home too. Booking essential.

Easter Zoo Club, Welsh Mountain Zoo, Colwyn Bay | 27 March, 1, 5, 8 & 12 April 

Experience the day as a zoo keeper with action-packed one-day sessions which include getting very hands-on, preparing food, meeting and feeding some amazing zoo animals and exploring nature. Suitable for children aged 8-12 years old.

Wolves of the Sky, Harlech Castle | 28 – 29 March 

Wolves of the Sky will be at Harlech Castle for the very first time this Easter. Get up close and personal with amazing birds of prey, and spend time gaining an insight into the ancient art of falconry.

Nature Activities, Plas yn Rhiw, Llyn Peninsula | 29 March – 1 April

Jester School, Beaumaris Castle | 29 March – 30 March

Visit Beaumaris Castle and see if you have what it takes to be a mediaeval jester! From juggling and diablo, to plate spinning, the castle jester will be on-hand to teach you new skills.

Tales of Wales, Criccieth Castle | 30 March 

Listen to the old Tales of Wales, stories that were old before Criccieth Castle was even thought of! These are the legends of old Wales: stories of giants, maidens, wizards and dragons; the kind of stories that always begin in English with Once upon a time… and in Welsh with Amser maith yn ol… The stories will be told in both Welsh and English, and are suitable for all ages, from 4 to 104!

Llanberis Lake Railway, Easter Egg Hunt | 30 March – 1 April 2024

Come along to the annual Easter Egg Hunt where the resident White Rabbit has once again hidden all his eggs around the railway thinking no one else will find them! Can you help?

Easter with the Ardudwy Knights, Harlech Castle – 30 March – 1 April

What was life like in the 13th century in a castle? Step back in time with the Ardudwy Knights and enjoy combat displays and weaponry demonstrations. Take part in an Easter Egg Trail on 31 March.

Easter Egg Hunt & Crafts, RSPB Conwy | 31 March 

Tegi the dragon has lost his eggs somewhere around the nature reserve. Follow the clues to help him find them and get hands on with some Easter crafts to take home too.

Easter Treasure Trail, Caernarfon Castle | 31 March

Join the Red Dragon Garrison at Castell Caernarfon for an Easter Treasure Trail!

Easter Eggstravaganza, Beaumaris Castle | 31 March & 1 April

Join the circus workshops for young and old to try some new tricks, and watch the castle jester as he entertains you with his death-defying tricks that will wow the crowd. Look out for the castle’s executioner, with his gruesome tools of torture and stories about how the truth was extracted from prisoners.

There’ll also be an Easter Egg Hunt on both days, where you can find the clues, work out the answer and escape the castle to claim your prize.

Greenwood Forest Park | From 1 April 

This Easter, unleash your inner explorer with GreenWoods’ adventurous eggsplorers trail! Eggsplorers will have to work out the clues from their trail guide, and track down the hidden eggs which have been hidden across the park. Each eggsplorer who finds every egg and solves the winning password will receive a yummy chocolate prize.

‘Fooling Around’, Plas Mawr, Conwy | 1 April

Meet the Conwy Jester and let him entertain you with his foolish fun! Have your face painted and join in the fun, games and activities including the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
