Welsh Highland Railway Santa Trains

Santa trains run between Caernarfon and Rhyd Ddu on 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 22nd & 23rd of December. Trains depart from Caernarfon where passengers can collect a hamper full of tasty treats. Once on board, sherry will be served to adults, then get ready to enjoy the fantastic scenery of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and look out for Santa and his elves who will be passing through the train handing out gifts and singing Christmas carols.

Llangollen Railway Santa Special

Treat the whole family to a magical journey through the Dee Valley aboard a vintage steam train. These festive trains depart from Llangollen Station on the 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st & 22nd December, and travel through stunning countryside to the winter wonderland at ‘Lapland’ (Carrog Station). On the way Santa and his team of elves will pass through the carriages handing out gifts to all the children on the nice list! Adults can collect a festive tipple and mince pie for the journey from Llangollen Station.

Talyllyn Railway Santa Special

On December 16th board Santa’s special train at Tywyn Wharf for a magical journey to Plas Nadolig at Rhydyronen. Here the mischievous elves will make sure everyone has a drink of mulled wine, juice for the children, and a mince pie or cookie to enjoy on the return to Wharf. After your festive journey, visit Santa in his Victorian Carriage to receive a gift – as long as you’re not on his naughty list!

Corris Railway Santa Specials

Santa Specials will be running on the 9th & 10th December. Take a steam train trip to meet Santa at Maespoeth Junction. There will be presents for the children, activities, and seasonal refreshments for adults and children alike.

Bala Lake Railway Santa Specials

These special Santa trains will be hauled by steam locomotives, suitably decorated for the occasion. All trains will depart from Llanuwchllyn Station on a journey down the line to Santa’s grotto, where the children will meet the man himself and receive a gift. Adults receive a mince pie and a glass of sherry or a hot drink. Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December.

Advance booking is recommended for all Santa trains as these tend to be extremely popular!
