It’s loomimg. That time when we have to decide what to get our loved ones for Christmas. It gets harder and harder every year and I don’t know about you, but in our household we seem to have everything we need. Getting more ‘stuff’ means a) having to make room by discarding perfectly good other ‘stuff’ b) adding to a pile that after a couple of weeks will gather dust and c) also adding to the already fraught management of ‘screen time’! There is a lot of research to support that taking part in an ‘experience’ creates more long term well-being than new material possessions. They tend to be done with others so involves proper social engagement (as apposed to the virtual kind). Rib Rides Diary - Anglesey

After hearing a lot of great reviews on the Rib Ride experience in Anglesey, we went to see what it was all about and it certainly didn’t disappoint… Apart from the obvious thrill of racing down the menai straits at high speed by boat, the trip also includes an insight to a lot of interesting facts about the area; not a dull list of dates, but great stories of the past and all the shenanigans that went on in that neck of the woods. Having gone under Menai bridge, we entered into the swellies, its a section of the straights where the currents are particularly strong where you’ll see whirlpools – don’t worry, they aren’t going to swallow the boat up, but none the less give you an understanding of why Nelson called the Menai Straits the most treacherous stretch of water in the world.
