Top 5 Snowdonia Seafood Dining Experiences
Published on 29 Apr 2016 by Gwion LlwydBeing so close to the coast, we do seafood very well in Snowdonia and I’m not talking fish and chips. I’m talking about hidden gems of restaurants that offer incredible seafood in fantastic locations… here are our top 5 Snowdonia seafood dining experiences:
TWNTI SEAFOOD, PWLLHELI
Based in-between Pwllheli and Abersoch, this converted barn, off the beaten track really does have a reputation for excellent seafood. It has been running for over 26 years and is a real favourite with those who know of it.
DYLANS, CRICCIETH
Following on from its success in Menai Bridge, Dylans opened up their second location in the Maes-Y Mor on the beach fronton Criccieth. A fabulous environment with an extensive fish menu alongside pizza, burgers and pasta. They have a separate bar there too if you just fancy a drink overlooking the sea.
MARRAM GRASS, ANGLESEY
Having received great reviews in the national press and Julia Bradbury in her series about walking, this little restaurant has become some what of a little celeb in its own right and has been nominated for the best cafe / bistro 2016. The Barrie brothers provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with delicious food, making this a really fab place to visit. Booking strongly recommended.
BRYN WILLIAMS AT PORTH EIRIAS
Set on the promenade, Bryn Williams at Port Eirias brings everything together; one of the UK’s top chefs, a beach front location, a modern, rustic interior and a great bistro style menu with seafood being a core part of the offering. They also offer a great breakfast – what a way to start the day; breakfast on the beach!
SALT MARSH KITCHEN
This little hidden gem has had great reviews from all those that have been and is listed in the 2016 Michelin guide. A cosy and understated interior gives for a very relaxed atmosphere alongside a great seafood menu with ingredients all locally sourced and organic where possible.
