1 – WATER SPORTS
It’s wet anyway so take advantage of all the watersports we have on offer. From canyoning, gorge walking, white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking and Sup’ing, it’s all available on the many stunning lakes in the area. Snowdonia Adventure Activities, Adrenalin Addicts and Bala Watersports are some of the providers. Surf Snowdonia should also be on your to-do list in the rain.
2 – STEAM TRAINS
The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highlands is a steam train that runs from Caernarfon to Blaenau Ffestiniog over the Snowdonia mountains and around the lakes. Expect stunning scenery in what is a spectacular trip. There are stops along the way and so you can get on and off along the way.
3 – VISIT A CASTLE
There are over 600 castle in Wales and we have some of the most spectacular. A visit to Caernarfon, Conwy or Beaumaris will certainly not disappoint and will take you on a memorable trip back through history.
4 – WALKING
As long as you have the right clothes, walking in the rain can be a great experience. Get a good pair of waterproof trousers, a waterproof / wind-proof coat and some good walking boots and you will have a ball walking in the rain. It is worth taking a route lower down as opposed to up a mountain due to visibility being worse in the rain.
5 – ZIPWORLD
ZipWorld have a couple of great indoor experiences. Bounce Below which is a series of 3 trampolines suspended from the inside of a cave, the highest being 180ft off the ground. Zipworld Caverns is an epic journey through underground caverns on zip lines, rope bridges, via ferrata and tunnels.
