Two Bedroom Traditional Farm Holiday Cottage With Outstanding Views | Bryn-Mawr

Welcome to Bryn-Mawr, a two-bedroom traditional farm holiday cottage with outstanding views that has recently decided to "level up." While the main cottage is a masterclass in thick stone walls and quiet privacy, the new contemporary sunroom is the guest of honour. Situated on the lawn, this timber-clad sanctuary features expansive anthracite-framed glazing and sliding doors, essentially acting as a high-definition lens for the Eryri (Snowdonia) landscape. It is the perfect spot for those who want to appreciate the "great outdoors" while remaining firmly and warmly indoors.

Stepping inside the main house, the tour continues through a light, airy, open-plan living space with a vaulted ceiling. If you can tear your eyes away from the views, you’ll find a lounge area centred around a traditional log burner. It’s set within an original stone inglenook, providing a rugged contrast to the clean, modern finish of the room. Whether you collapse onto the large sofa, claim the cuddle chair, or perish the thought - actually read a book in the window seat - cosy evenings are mandatory here.

For the culinary-minded, a breakfast bar with high stools is separate from a modern, sage-green kitchen. It’s small but mighty, equipped with a white Belfast sink and a splash of "look-at-me" red tiling. Adjacent, the dining area hosts a proper farmhouse table, perfect for plotting your next mountain conquests, in the lounge.

The sleeping quarters consist of two spacious retreats. The master bedroom keeps things classy with subtle tones and exposed beams, while the twin room features chunky, solid furniture that won't be bullied by a bit of luggage. Sandwiched between them is a modern shower room boasting a rainforest shower head large enough to make you forget you ever needed a spa.

The accommodation is located on a private farm road, away from other properties, providing a truly secluded setting. To the exterior, there is a raised private lawn behind the cottage which is a perfect playing spot for children. To the front of the property, a large area covered with decorative slate features a bench and picnic table with parasol. The perfect space to relax with a drink of choice while enjoying the tranquil peace of this quiet and stunning location, after a day exploring the area.

Whether your preference is exploring the coastline, or the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia), this two bedroom traditional farm holiday cottage with outstanding views is perfect for both. At only three miles from the coast, wander along the stunning beaches of Dinas Dinlle with views towards the majestic hills of Yr Eifl on the nearby Llyn Peninsula. The castle town of Caernarfon is located only fifteen minutes drive away, and the A499 road near the property provides great access to the Llyn Peninsula, where you can explore the rugged coastline and golden sandy beaches. To celebrate our 62nd wedding anniversary we were looking for a comfortable cottage which had a good view, was away from other houses, had a log burner and a good shower. Bryn Mawr did all these things magnificently.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful spot. Our host, Hew made us feel very welcome and was very helpful with any of the small requests we had. A very brief problem with WiFi was rectified immediately.

The property itself was perfect for our needs and our 2 girls loved watching some Welsh language TV in their bedroom every morning.

The wood burning stove is the focal point of a comfortable open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room and warmed the space up nicely, morning and night.

The views out towards Anglesey and the Irish sea are breathtaking and the peace of the beautiful Gwynedd countryside was a welcome break for us all.

Highly recommended and we hope to stay again

Diolch yn fawr.

Just returned from our four night stay at Bryn Mawr and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Great views, so peaceful and perfectly cosy cottage with warm fire and everything you need. Great spot to get away from it all and have calm spot of your own. Great sunset if you are lucky with the weather.

My daughter and I were so lucky to have perfect sunny weather for our second stay at this lovely restored farm cottage with views over the Irish Sea and beautiful sunsets. We were out every day to nearby beaches and two boat trips
Farmer Hugh and his wife work so hard and are friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our holiday at Bryn-Mawr very much. The cottage was clean, well-equipped and cosy. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious with tea, coffee, sugar already bought. The views over the sea were unforgettable and the peace and quiet was pricelless. Short drive to Caernarforn and around to buy some food and groceries. Wifi was strong enough to keep our teenagers happy when browsing and chatting with friends on the internet. I cannot say anything bad, to be honest. The host was very friendly and gave us a lot of tips where to go and what to see, etc.

We absolutely loved our stay at Brynmawr we spoke to Huw and his son Aron who both was extremely helpful and very approachable.
The cottage is an absolute delight & as been beautifuly renovated.
The views take your breath away on one side snowdonia and then the blue welsh coastline to the front .
With surrounding green pastures & happily grazing sheep surrounding the cottage.
The cottage well equipped and clean & the living area is comfortable.
The solitude is so peaceful & quiet you cannt help but sleep very well in very comfy beds .
The only thing we would say is the actual farm could do with some signage to indicate where the cottage is as we had quite good fun 😱 driving down a very stoney narrow track when we got lost.
Although when we contacted Huw he answered straight away & explained how to get there.
The track to the cottage we found it OK as we have an SUV vehicle but some may find it difficult.
We overall had a wonderful stay and huge thanks to the wonderful owners Huw & his family and would recommend it without any hesitation. 👌

We had a wonderful time at Bryn Mawr over the weekend. The cottage had a real home-from-home feel, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax.

It was beautifully maintained, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was evident, from the well-equipped kitchen to the cozy living spaces. Welsh cakes, chocolates and a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge was definitely an added bonus!

We will definitely be returning again for a third time and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming getaway in Wales!

Diolch yn fair Huw a Manon!

Just back from a lovely 5 days at this beautiful cottage. The location is amazing you have views of the sea at the front and mountains behind. Situated on a working farm but a good distance from it, you access the cottage down a track and then there’s nothing just open views.
The cottage is well equipped, airy and well thought out we were very comfortable.
It’s a great location to get out and about from. We would recommend The Goat pub restaurant its 7 miles away but the food was amazing and it’s gorgeous inside.
I would certainly visit again

Bryn Maur is beautifully restored to a high quality, the cottage is snug, cosy and has all the amenities you need, to make your holiday easy and enjoyable. The cottage was extremely clean and has an added comfort of a log burner. The views to the sea are stunning, this is just a lovely peaceful cottage. An added comfort is the bed mattresses are extremely comfortable, which can be a rare thing in holiday lets.

My friend and I stayed Monday to Friday in August 2024, the weather was kind to us, windy and rainy but on our walks very pleasant.
The cottage is in easy reach of many attractions, less than 30 mins to Caernarfon and Llanberis where the lake was stunning; just so picturesque. Walking round the lake shows you the scenery of the lake and the mountains, you can visit the quarrymans hospital museum, very interesting.

I will definitely be recommending this cottage to my family and friends.

We had a lovely 3 night break in the cottage. It is very clean with a great decor and amazing views. We liked the remoteness of it. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage or visit again. Nice welcome pack and a really good shower – which is always a bonus! Lovely fireplace and good TV. Easy to reach the North Welsh coast, Snowdonia and Anglesey from the cottage.
