Beautiful beachfront holiday apartment in Llanbedrog on the Llyn Peninsula | Gorynys-Pedrog

A beautiful beachfront holiday apartment in Llanbedrog on the PenLlyn (Llyn Peninsula). Private balcony, stunning mountain & sea views. Sleeps 6.

Sitting right at the water’s edge on a quiet headland cloaked by woodland and heath, this beautiful beachfront holiday apartment offers an idyllic escape from the busy noise of life.

One of three cottages that have been created from an historic Llyn property – originally a row of fisherman’s cottages with a boathouse below – the location is the stuff of seaside holiday dreams.

The apartment looks out over a sweeping sandy bay set against a pretty woodland backdrop and Snowdonia’s magnificent peaks. Colourful huts stand sentry halfway along the beach, which is sheltered, calm and shallow. This place is as much loved by sandcastlers as it is by SUPers, swimmers, kayakers and snorkelers.

The recently renovated duplex-style accommodation is set over two floors. The main, ground floor living area is open plan. A dining table with plenty of room for eight guests makes clever use of a window seat and the enormous beach-and-mountain backdrop. It is a very lovely space indeed.

Also on the ground floor, there is a comfortable sitting area with sofa, easy chairs and wall-mounted TV. A generously sized and well-equipped glossy kitchen space is recessed to one side. Large patio doors open onto a glass-surround balcony, which also has a dining space.

The main bedroom is located on the ground floor (because the holiday cottage is built into a hilly headland you are kind of on a split level – the hill side entrance to the cottage is ‘ground’ floor, beach side you are one floor up). This is a spacious bedroom with double bed, wall mounted TV and en-suite shower room.

The ‘ground’ level is also home to a second family bathroom, also with a bath and shower. There is a further WC just off the hallway. You are well served for loos!

The upstairs bedrooms each have their own individual staircase up from the main living room (the kids love that) to cleverly converted roof space. There is one double bedroom, one twin. Dormer windows make good use of the light. Each bedroom has a wall-mounted TV. You are connected to Netflix.

There is wood flooring and underfloor heating throughout, as well as a good WiFi connection. This is a beautiful beachfront holiday apartment in Llanbedrog on the Pen Llyn.

If you are visiting with a larger group, there are two adjacent properties also available for holiday rental, accommodating a further 6 + 4 guests.

Location

The holiday apartment sits on the edge of Llanbedrog beach, on the south side of the Pen Llyn It looks out across Cardigan Bay towards Snowdonia’s mighty peaks. With its colourful beach huts, sheltered bay and plentiful golden sand it’s hard to imagine a more idyllic seaside hideaway.

The accommodation is just a short distance from some of the Llyn’s most popular seaside villages, including Pwllheli with its busy marina and Abersoch’s bars and boutiques. There is loads to do within walking distance – from all sorts of water sports and walks to cafés, bars and other treats.

Llanbedrog beach is golden, sandy, shallow and sheltered. The Wales Coastal Path is right on your doorstep – follow it up and over the headland to Abersoch, checking out the impressive Tin Man sculpture on your way. The views from the top of the headland are spectacular, taking in Snowdonia’s peaks, Cardigan Bay and St Tudwal’s Islands. If you prefer to walk on the sand, it’s less than a mile around the headland to Abersoch. But do check the tide timetables before you set off.

Back at the cottage, you’re a few minutes’ walk from the Oriel Plas Glyn-y -Weddw, a wonderful showcase for Welsh art, music and theatre. We recommend checking out what’s going on during your stay. If you fancy eating out, the friendly, family-run Aqua beach bar and restaurant is just a stone’s throw down the lane.

What a wonderful place, the boathouse was absolutely beautiful. Had everything and more that we needed, the views were breathtaking. We stayed here to celebrate my dad’s 70th and he truly loved it! Myself, my husband, both adult sons and our dog stayed at Gorynys-Pedrog for 5 days and had a fabulous time. The location is perfect. A short walk across the beach to the beach bar for breakfast (dog friendly), short car trips to Abersoch for evening meals in the multiple dog friendly spots and a wander up to the local Ship Inn one evening.

We had some lovely coastal walks and enjoyed watching the paddle boarders and swimmers from the cottage balcony.

Thoroughly recommend.

We have just been to the cottage with our son and daughter in law for a fabulous weekend. The cottage is spotlessly clean due to the cleaners doing a thorough job. Well appointed with everything you need.
The cottage is so comfortable plenty of seating and comfy beds.
The beach was perfect for our dog who runs away normally but the lovely beach is enclosed on one side with a steep hill and the sea on the other, so we were able to let him off the lead. He loved it!
Thank you for a stress free time.
Will certainly be back.
The views from the cottage are truly exceptional, the mountains and the sea which comes right up to the cottage.
Thank you

A lovely, well equipped property in a fabulous setting. 3 lovely bedrooms and bathrooms- ideal for multiple couples stay, or family with children. Step out on to beautiful coastal/beach walks. 5 min walk to Plas Glyn y Weddw for delicious lunch/cakes and walk in the 12 acre woodland. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Gorynys-Pedrog with my parents and my father in law and our Labrador, Molly, over the week leading up to Easter 2023. The accommodation is excellent – comfortable with plenty of room. The kitchen has almost everything that you will need and the lovely welcome pack was a nice surprise.

We chose Gorynys-Pedrog  for the view, and we were not disappointed. The weather was great apart from one day but even then, watching the clouds roll over the distant mountain tops was captivating.

Access to the beach is very easy. Our dog loved her daily walks on the beach and swims in the sea. One note of caution – if you have a reactive dog there is some noise from the beach and the coastal path passes right in front of the windows overlooking the beach, so you will see people close up on a regular basis. Thankfully Molly got over that quickly and they became just another part of the view.

Car parking is tight down by the property but there is plenty of room just up the drive where we left our car.

The Glyn-y-Weddw is certainly worth a visit. Great artists on show with a new cafe/restaurant attached with terrific cakes.

We spent a large proportion of our week walking locally, especially on the beach but also on the headland which gives spectacular views in all directions. Definitely pack your walking boots.

We would definitely recommend Gorynys-Pedrog
