Set in a village location, Y Berllan is a beautifully renovated two bedroom bungalow near the beach, with great access to Bae Ceredigion (Cardigan Bay). Sleeping four, this fabulous modernised property is an ideal base to explore the stunning coastline and landscapes of the area. With open plan living and a private outdoor space, Y Berllan is the ideal spot to stay away with family or friends, whatever time of year.

Entering the property through the front door, the hallway provides access to all rooms, with a doorway to the right leading into the bright and airy open plan living space. With wood strip flooring laid throughout, the room is separated into a lounge space and a kitchen diner. The lounge sits next to a large window, allowing natural light to flood in. Bright white painted walls feature hidden bookshelves and coastal themed artwork, along with a wall mounted modern fireplace and Smart TV. A plush leather Chesterfield sofa sits alongside a metal framed glass topped coffee table and two stylish armchairs finished in teal fabric, with a natural fibre rug positioned on the floor. It's the perfect spot for socialising in the evenings with a glass of something nice.

The rear section of the room comprises a modern and well equipped kitchen space. Grey blue wooden kitchen units with a glossy white worktop are designed in a U-shape with the counter to one side doubling up as a dining space, with four comfortable dining stools. A full height fridge freezer sits alongside an eye level double oven, sink with dishwasher under and electric hob. Modern decorative light fittings hang from the ceiling above the dining space and skylights provide ample natural light in the space. The counter dining space is ideal to gather around for a chat and drink while the chef of the household prepares breakfast or dinner.

Back into the hallway, the beautifully renovated two bedroom bungalow near the beach includes a double bedroom, a twin and a family bathroom. The double room to the front of the property features a large double bed with bedside tables either side and wall mounted bedside light fittings. An open shelving and wardrobe unit sits opposite the bed, allowing a space saving storage set up. With a teal throw on the bed and coastal print bedding, this provides another nod to the location of Y Berllan. The twin bedroom next door features two single beds separated by a bedside table and lamp, again with an open shelving and wardrobe unit opposite. The room, whilst relatively small, provides ample storage space for the stay. Completing the bungalow's layout, the stunning family bathroom features a bath with a rainforest shower over, sitting opposite the WC and basin built into a wall vanity unit with plenty of storage for toiletries.

This beautiful property is also pet friendly. The Owner's have even installed a Covered Dog shower (hot and cold water) near the back door, perfect to wash sandy paws after a stroll on the beach.

Location

Located in the heart of the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy between Harlech and Barmouth, Y Berllan is ideally suited for guests who wish to spend time near the sea. The property has a relatively private setting, accessed via a gravel driveway with tall hedges. To the rear of the bungalow, accessed from the kitchen, the garden features a patio area next to the house with a picnic table, a great spot for al fresco dining or drinking the evenings after a busy day out exploring. The remainder of the garden is lawn and flower beds, surrounded by stone walls and fencing.

There is a well stocked mini-supermarket a 3 minute walk away from the property.

A 5 minute walk from the property is the railway station, with trains travelling along the famous Cambrian coast route.

At less than two miles away, the beautiful Benar Beach is accessed via a boardwalk across some fabulous sand dunes. It's a wonderful beach with epic views of the Welsh coastline and across to the Llyn Peninsula. Whether it's a wintery coastal walk, or a dip in the clear water on a summer day, it's a spot that shouldn't be missed. Further north the beaches of Morfa Dyffryn and Harlech, also flanked by stunning sand dunes, can be explored easily. The town of Harlech, featuring it's dominating 13th century castle is a must visit. Narrow streets packed full of boutique shops and cute cafes lead to the medieval fortress of Harlech Castle, which provides stunning views over the coast and Parc Genedlaethol Eryri. For visitors with some energy to spend, take a walk up Ffordd Pen Lech in the village - one of the world's steepest streets.

Heading south from the beautifully renovated two bedroom bungalow near the beach, the seaside town of Barmouth is approximately ten minutes by car. A typically Welsh seaside resort, Barmouth sits under the backdrop of the mountains of Southern Eryri, and the streets are packed with pubs, restaurants, cafes and gift shops. The large expanse of sandy beach is popular with families, and there are a number of walks that can be taken from the town including the Mawddach Trail along and old disused railway line. For hikers and walkers, the Rhinogydd Mountains nearby have some great walking routes and mountain bikers can also head to the nearby Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park, Britain's first purpose built mountain bike centre which is also a good spot for family forest walks, with a cafe and a visitor centre on site.

Perfect base to explore the surrounding area. The property is as described, perfectly clean and felt very homely. The property has some great touches which made our stay very pleasant, especially the welcome pack. The garden was safe and secure for our dog and the outside shower was a great addition. The property was very modern and contained everything that we needed and more to allow for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend a stay at Y Berllan, we will certainly be back when in the area.

We had a lovely stay thank you! Accommodation was perfect in everyway for the two of us plus Jenson the dog.
I was so impressed that we had a dog bowl & an outdoor space to wash paws & clean boots…perfect.
The only thing we struggled with was where to dry wet waterproofs / dog towels etc, not sure how other guests coped with this as we have a boot room at home, however saying this it would not put us off booking again so hopefully we will be back next year.

Great week at Y-Berllan really enjoyed the beautiful house, facilities and location. Really good for our dogs and the owners really show that they themselves are dog owners.
We would definitely book again.

A beautiful cottage with a private, peaceful garden. The garden was also secure which was great for the dog.The cottage was comfortable and well thought out. We were glad of the fans in the living room and bedroom as the weather was really warm. There were only two glasses in the kitchen, so a couple more would be useful. Other than that, the cottage had everything we needed. We like staying in this friendly village. There are lots of walks from the cottage and it’s ideally situated for travelling further afield. We spent a lovely day at Borth y Gest and Llandanwg. We went to Barmouth a few times and recommend downloading the Council parking app. Once set up on your phone, it makes paying for parking much easier. We hope to visit again next year.

We recently spent a week at this cottage. It was the first time we had taken our dogs away so were a bit apprehensive. We needn’t have worried. This cottage was perfect; everything thought of, including an outside covered shower for the dogs! Perfect location for long walks & the cottage itself was immaculate. We hope to return next year!

We spent a lovely family week here at the end of August. We found the cottage to be everything we needed as a family of four, which included our 10 year old son and our cockapoo. The cottage was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed. The enclosed garden worked brilliantly, as did the outdoor dog shower for when we returned from the beach. We were able to enjoy some family meals eating outside in the garden, and got to use our sons telescope to look up at the moon on a clear night. The recommendation to reverse onto the drive worked well. We didn’t need to use the electric charging point but there is one there. We found the location useful for exploring the local area and had a nice variety during the week of beach days, castles, steam trains, crabbing and shopping.

What a hidden little gem. I don’t often leave reviews, but we have just had the most peaceful, relaxing weekend. Everything was perfect, the cottage was clean and well equipped, we even had an odd dry hour here and there to sit out in the garden, and it was wonderful to hear…..nothing. The local spar shop (2 min walk) has an award winning butchers and we cooked every night which we hadn’t planned on, but the meat was fantastic.
Local beach, is perfect. We actually checked to see if it was booked this week as we wanted to stay longer. So yes we will be going back.

Secure parking and most importantly secure boundaries for our 2 dogs and even a shower outside for them! Lovely lawn with borders and a stream with table and chairs to enjoy the garden.

Inside was super clean and really well planned with everything you could ask for in terms of preparing and serving food and of course relaxing.

Everything was brand new and thoughtfully placed. We enjoyed 3 fabulous days and didn’t want to leave!

We had amazing weather and visited 5 beaches with the dogs. The Victoria Inn which was recommended was not far away and did not disappoint.

Everything was on our doorstep. Y Berllan was exceptional and we are grateful we were able to stay.

Thank you so much for a much needed and much enjoyed stay – we will be back!

Just returned from a short break at Y-Berllan. What can we say…..what a lovely modern property fitted out to a high standard. Perfect base for exploring the local area. Discovered some nice walks and beaches and all pubs were dog friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
