How To Be Happy

How To Be Happy | The Answer Might Be in Snowdonia

50% of happiness is determined by our genes, 10% is from our circumstances, job, house, status etc, leaving the remaining 40% down to us to manage. Whats the secret? The chemical in our bodies that promotes happiness is dopamine and from our teenage years onwards, if we do not actively try to create it in our bodies, it will naturally decrease and not be reproduced. If you don’t use it, you loose it. How do we create it? There are 4 recognised ways in which to increase dopamine levels: Close Network. Having a close and supportive network of family and friends. Spending time with them is important and those that do tend to me much happier and fulfilled. New Experiences. Changing the way you do things or going on adventures is a high dopamine releaser. It could be as simple as a different running route every morning or the big adventure. But either way, variety being…

Experience Snowdonia In Springtime

Experience Snowdonia In Springtime

Driving through the towns and villages this week, it is clear that spring has arrived. Snowdonia has woken from its winter hibernation and everyone is getting ready to enjoy the great outdoors that this part of North Wales has to offer. To experience Snowdonia in springtime is special. Stunning green pastures set against a back drop of snow capped mountains, crystal clear lakes, turquoise seas, and cascading waterfalls. When you add newborn lambs bouncing in the fields among the daffodils, it’s pretty idyllic. Even for those fortunate to live here, it really is Snowdonia at its best! With the lighter spring evenings, longer walks and treks are also an option. This is the best time to climb Snowdon in our opinion. Apart from missing the summertime masses, with the lower temperatures, and the countryside looking at its best, it makes this bucket list adventure even more enjoyable. So if your thinking of climbing up Snowdon or…

Large Self Catering Holiday Home Near Conwy | Sycamore-Cottage

“We had a great family reunion here over Christmas. Lots of space, good parking, great kitchen, great walks, beautiful surrounds. Huw & Sioned were wonderful if we needed anything. We couldn’t have stayed anywhere nicer. Thankyou so much!! Highly recommended.” – The Brophys, Melbourne. My husband and I stayed here in July with my parents and four children. Obviously, visiting as a large family we were really looking for a nice spacious, fully furnished self-catering cottage. We were pleased to see that, that was exactly what we got. We saw online that the cottage appeared to be nice and contemporary which is great if you’re looking for that ‘hotel-like experience’ where all your amenities are new and up to date. It was easy to settle in too as everything was really easy to use, a good thing when you’re visiting with three generations of the same family. I have to say, the fact that the cottage…

Self Catering Barn Near Pwllheli, Llyn Peninsula - Bryncaled Diary

“Despite the inclement weather we all had a fabulous break in a delightful, well appointed cottage. It was close to all amenities and yet remote enough for peace and tranquility. Facilities were spot on, in fact we enjoyed it so much, we considered taking a few extra days onto our fortnight’s holiday, but unfortunately it was booked. It was our granddaughters 1st holiday, 1st time at the beach, 1st tooth, and 1st paddle in the sea, many other 1sts – so memorable we will have to do it again very shortly. Cannot recommend it highly enough.” – Alan Jones, Shropshire As it was such a lovely day, we decided we would spend our first day in Aberdaron so the girls could enjoy the beach. The village of Aberdaron, not too far from where we were staying could only be described as one of the most idyllic little seaside villages we’ve ever come across. Set right next…

A Family Day Out at Coed Y Brenin

Coed y Brenin was the first forestry to be developed into a mountain biking premier location and we had heard great things about it. With plenty of walking paths and beautiful scenery the family and I thought it would be a great day out for us. When we arrived at the park, we thought it was great to see so many facilities, especially with two children. There was a visitor centre shop and cafe, trail maps and even a bike wash there. If you didn’t bring your bike with you on holiday you can just rent one here at Beics Brenin. You can rent specialist mountain bikes from just ÂŁ25 for the full day. Considering the fun you can have in this forest I’d say that it’s well worth the money. Don’t forget to book in advance though, because bikes cannot be guaranteed during busy periods of the year. The routes available are so diverse, we…
