Where to Eat in Abersoch | Best Cafés, Restaurants & Pubs

Published on 22 Sep 2025 by Amy Greenwood

Loved by generations of visitors, Abersoch is one of North Wales’s most popular coastal villages. And it’s not just the beautiful beaches that draw people back year after year. The high street is home to a vibrant mix of cafes, bars and restaurants. From laid-back coffee shops serving smooth flat whites, to cosy bistros, Asian cuisine and family-friendly restaurants, there’s something to suit every appetite.

Discover the best places to eat in Abersoch with our round-up of the top spots for coffee, lunch, family meals, and dog-friendly dining!

Are there any family-friendly restaurants in Abersoch?

Absolutely! Abersoch is a family holiday hotspot and most restaurants are relaxed and casual. Mexican inspired Manana is a firm favourite with a seriously laid-back vibe – you can turn up sandy and sun-soaked after a day on the beach without feeling out of place. If you’re a pizza lover (let’s face it, who isn’t?) Crust is perfect. Their pizzas are freshly made, generously topped and totally delicious – there’s even a Nutella pizza that’s sure to delight sweet-toothed little ones!

Zinc, Nwdl, The Vaynol and St.Tudwal’s Inn are also great family-friendly options with menus to suit all ages.

Who serves the best coffee and cake?

Hands down, Two Islands. This stylish spot in the heart of Abersoch is known for its specialty coffee and gorgeous bakes (the cinnamon buns are legendary). Not to mention the most delicious artisan ice cream. If you can, nab a window seat and watch the world go by – it’s prime people-watching territory.

Where’s a great lunch spot?

Just Mary’s is tucked away at Aberuchaf, but worth seeking out. This cosy café serves up colourful Middle-Eastern inspired dishes that feel wholesome but indulgent at the same time.

In the centre of the village, Zinc serves a lunchtime menu of burgers, paninis, salads and light bites. Or grab a takeaway baguette or pasty from neighbouring Abersoch Deli.

Where’s best for foodies?

It has to be The Dining Room. This relaxed bistro recently made the Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants for the second year running and is a favourite with regular visitors. With an intimate atmosphere and a small daily menu it’s a must for true foodies – think beautifully presented dishes, inventive flavours, and a meal to remember.

For Asian-inspired menus with a heavy dose of seafood Nwdl and Deli Thai are also worth visiting.

Are there any good takeaways?

Yes! You can grab takeout pizzas from Crust (just make sure to call in your order early during busy times), or The Hub, or opt for the classic seaside holiday treat with fish n chips from The Creel.

Do I need to book?

In a word – yes. While you might find a table for lunch without too much hassle, the best restaurants get snapped up quickly. If you’ve got your heart set on an evening at The Dining Room or a harbour view table at Zinc, make sure to reserve a table well in advance.

That said, some places only accept walk-ins. The Vaynol, St Tudwal’s, Crust, Manana and The Hub don’t take bookings, so make sure to arrive early to grab a table. The Manana queue is an Abersoch phenomenon. During holiday periods you’ll need to arrive well before opening to secure your table – pros grab a drink from The Vaynol to enjoy while they wait!

10 tips for taking your dog on holiday

Can I bring my dog?

Good news for dog owners – plenty of Abersoch’s cafés and pubs are dog-friendly. The Vaynol and St Tudwal’s both welcome dogs inside and out, making them a solid choice after walkies on the beach. Many coffee spots are also happy to have four-legged visitors. As a rule of thumb, outdoor seating is usually fair game, but it’s always worth checking ahead if you’re planning dinner somewhere more formal.

If you’re planning your next getaway, take a look at our collection of holiday cottages in and around Abersoch – perfect for family trips, foodie weekends, or a dog-friendly escape. Stay close to the village to wander down for morning coffee at Two Islands or breakfast at Zinc.
