Holiday cottages for peace and quiet

Published on 13 Nov 2023 by Amy Greenwood

Modern life has become increasingly and inescapably noisy. Need to get away from it all? These holiday cottages are perfect for some proper peace and quiet.

Do you feel like you need to turn down the noise in your life? It’s probably for good reason: the constant drone of traffic, aircraft noise, and the ping and ring of our phones have been linked to a whole host of negative effects on our wellbeing.

The good news is, we can all do something about it. By seeking out silence – or at least as close to it as we can reasonably get – for a short amount of time each day, we can restore calm, soothe anxiety, and re-centre our sense of self.

Sometimes though, we all need a bit more than a few quiet moments at home. A bolthole to retreat to where the only noise interference is the gentle soundtrack of the natural world. The wind in the trees, soothing birdsong, the occasional bumbling bee.

Are you looking for a cottage where you can immerse yourself in the joy of tranquility and calm? Put in your earplugs, tune out the noise, and look at our favourite holiday cottage hideaways for some proper peace and quiet.
