October Half Term Cottage Escapes

Published on 3 Oct 2025 by Amy Greenwood

The leaves are turning, the air’s crisp, and your wellies are looking neglected – it must be October half term. If you’ve not yet booked your great autumn escape, fear not. We’ve pulled together a handpicked selection of Dioni cottages still available for the half term week. The choice may be a little slimmer now (our cosiest cottages go quicker than a tray of bonfire toffee), but there are still some absolute gems waiting to be snapped up.

From characterful coastal cottages in Pembrokeshire to snug rural hideaways in North Wales, this round-up includes a variety of locations and property sizes – perfect for families, couples, or anyone simply craving a seasonal switch-off. Whether you’re dreaming of windswept beach walks, mountain adventures, or just a crackling fire and a massive mug of tea, we’ve still got some brilliant options left.

This time of year is made for hearty meals, muddy adventures, and watching the rain from a comfy sofa with zero guilt. Our remaining properties still offer the full Dioni experience – quality, charm, and the kind of places where even the dog gets a holiday.

Take a look below at what’s left – from large family-friendly pads to romantic bolt-holes – and see if your perfect half term cottage is still up for grabs.

Two Bedroom Traditional Farm Holiday Cottage With Outstanding Views | Bryn-Mawr

Sleeps 4 | Near Beach | Real Fire | Farm Stay

This two bedroom traditional farm holiday cottage with outstanding views is based in a rural setting, with great access to the nearby coastline and mountains. Situated on a working farm, the single-storey cottage with thick stone walls is set in a quiet and private location.

Ground floor cottage prime Abersoch seaside location | Stabal-Soch

Sleeps 6 | Dog Friendly | Near Beach | Near Pub | Farm Stay

Admittedly we were lucky with the weather. The morning sun was reflecting off the blue sea as we enjoyed our breakfast out on the patio. But the ground floor holiday cottage complemented the weather wonderfully. Stabal-Soch is a one story converted stable block, so no stairs to worry about, and perfect of course if you can persuade Grandma and Grandpa to come along too. Facing south over Abersoch Bay and the mountains of southern Eryri (Snowdonia) beyond, the cottage makes the most of its prime seaside location.

Three Bedroom Pet Friendly Holiday Cottage in Harlech | Mehefin

Sleeps 6 | Dog Friendly | Near Beach | Near Pub

This three bedroom pet friendly holiday cottage in Harlech is a great base for anyone wanting to explore this charming seaside holiday town in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Comfortable beds and luxurious sofas combine with some lovely décor to create a real home from home for any visiting guests.

Modern Four Bedroom Property with Sea Views | Tan-Y-Foel

Sleeps 8 | Dog Friendly | Near Beach

Set in a friendly village location, Tan-y-Foel is a fabulous, modern four bedroom property with sea views situated between Harlech and Barmouth. Sleeping up to eight guests, with a spacious open plan living area, this is the perfect property for socialising with friends and family.

Luxury Cottage Pembrokeshire with Hot Tub and Games Room | Ty-Ficer

Sleeps 10 | Hot Tub | Dog Friendly | Near Beach | Games Room | Near Pub | EV Charger

Step through the rustic brick porch of Ty-Ficer and prepare to have your socks (and possibly walking boots) knocked off. This isn’t just a holiday cottage, it’s a lesson in how to blend farmhouse charm with designer interiors and all the bells and whistles you didn’t know you needed.

And if nothing in this list quite fits the bill, head over to our availability search page to browse all cottages still available for October half term.
